WE THE PEOPLE: Portraits of Veterans in America, is Mary Whyte’s series of watercolor portraits of military veterans reintegrating back into society and the workforce; featuring portraits of current day veterans of all ages, in all walks of life and from every state. Whyte’s fifty large scale watercolors have captured the essence of what it means to be an American today.

The celebration continues at the Gaillard Center as the Charleston Symphony Orchestra honors our country’s veterans with two special concerts adapted to Whyte’s WE THE PEOPLE. Maestro Ken Lam will debut a collection of American classical, jazz and contemporary pieces. Saturday’s performance will include many of the veterans depicted in the paintings in attendance.
