The Gadsden, 5 Gadsdenboro Street, Charleston, SC
Monday, October 7, 2019, 5:30 – 7pm

“Join The Gadsden for the latest edition of its 2019 Field Notes lecture series, a behind-the-scenes look at what makes Charleston such a vibrant place to live. Field Notes is a recurring series featuring gifted local tastemakers who offer behind-the-scenes glimpses of Charleston.

This month, we are highlighting Vertical Roots, a company innovating a more powerful and efficient way of farming through state-of-the-art technologies. In doing this, they are engaging a new generation of farmers and providing them with sustainable jobs.

On Monday, October 7, Field Notes will host Brian Wheat, director of community engagement at AmplifiedAg. AmplifiedAg is the parent company to a diverse set of companies included Tiger Corner Farms, Boxcar Central, and Vertical Roots.

This is a community event that is open to the public. The event is $5 and includes light bites (using Vertical Roots lettuce) and beer and wine. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Turning Leaf Project.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the Vertical Roots team will take the stage soon after 6 p.m. The Gadsden is located at 5 Gadsdenboro Street in downtown Charleston (on Gadsdenboro Park).”
