“Did you know 97% of Charleston County’s local jail population is awaiting court?  What happens after someone gets arrested and before they get to court?  How is the community kept safe?  What are defendant rights and victim rights?  Why does it all work the way it does?  And who makes these decisions?

Aa we celebrate Fourth of July and the founding of our nation, come hear a South Carolina Supreme Court Justice and local justice system leaders discuss what happens between arrest and trial. Attendees will learn about the early legal foundations that shaped our system of justice and how it works today in Charleston County.
