“Come celebrate South Carolina’s coastal waters and wildlife with the people who work to study and protect them!

Every other year, we open the doors of our Marine Resources Center in Charleston for a behind-the-scenes look at our work. Meet marine biologists, fisheries managers, and educators in a fun, relaxed setting. Open House is a free, family-friendly event with dozens of activities for all ages, including:

+ Touch tanks with live marine animals
+ Fishing and casting tutorials
+ Boating simulator
+ Guided history tours ️
+ Research vessel tours ️ 
+ Educational cruises (space limited and pre-registration required:…)
+ Over fifty other marine science booths

PLEASE NOTE: Parking is at James Island Charter High School, where shuttles will be waiting to transport visitors to the Marine Resources Center.

Be sure to take advantage of our spectacular view of Charleston Harbor — bring a picnic to enjoy on the point or purchase food and drinks on site.
