Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital
Sunday, September 22, 2019, 3 – 4pm
Country superstar Lee Brice will headline a large parking lot party on September 22nd to celebrate the opening of Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital, Berkeley County’s first hospital in 45 years.
Wristbands will be required to enter the celebration, and those will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Registration is required due to space limitations, with a four-wristband maximum per household. All attendees over the age of two MUST have a wristband.
The public can register online at rsfh.com/celebration or call 843-402-2273. If you’re interested, don’t wait to register because organizers expect the event to “sell out” quickly.
Brice, a native of Sumter, SC who attended Clemson University on a football scholarship, is a frequent favorite on country radio and music charts. Four of his singles have charted at No. 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay: “A Woman Like You,” “Hard to Love,” “I Drive Your Truck,” and “I Don’t Dance.”
The event is devoted to celebrating locals, with bands and choirs from nearby high schools performing, followed by the two top vote getters of the Roper St. Francis “Battle of the Bands” contest on social media. The Yacht Club will serve up smooth-sailing rock from the late ‘70s and early ‘80s while Warrick McZeke – Brice’s former college roommate at Clemson – will deliver his unique take on country music.
The following is the day’s schedule:

Local high school performances at 3:15 pm

The 50-bed hospital will be the first in Berkeley County in 45 years and will provide comprehensive healthcare services, including a 24-hour emergency department, cancer care, cardiology, endocrinology, obstetrics, orthopedics, surgery and diagnostic imaging.
“Our strategy in developing our healthcare system revolves around serving residents closest to where they live and work,” Lorraine Lutton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Roper St. Francis Healthcare, said. “We are honored to open our fourth hospital and make it easier for families in Berkeley and Dorchester counties to access the quality and affordable healthcare that is the backbone of our brand.”
The hospital opens to patients on October 4th. The Medical Office Building on the Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital campus already is open at 300 Callen Blvd. in Summerville at Carnes Crossroads, where Highway 17A and 176 intersect.
