About Nick DeLong
He’s basically the under water Indiana Jones.
As an archaeologist with the Warren Lasch Conservation Center, he specializes in artifact documentation, ship construction, and material culture analyses. His current focus is the Hunley, the world’s first successful combat submarine, used during the Civil War. The sub was unearthed from the bottom of Charleston Harbor in 2000.
We’re excited to gather this month at Charleston Museum, a.k.a. America’s first museum. You’ll enter the museum near the replica of the Hunley on John Street, but please don’t park in the parking lot. Street parking is available all around the museum!
